Well-loved in many English speaking countries around the world over, The Gruffalo has not really caught on in Hong Kong.

It’s wonderful to have many young readers who didn’t know Gruffalo join us to celebrate its 10th birthday. Readers were immediately drawn to the adventure of the little mouse in the deep dark wood, wonderfully presented by Axel Scheffler’s illustrations. Everyone was as surprised as the little mouse when the creature he created turned out to be real! The audience gasped as the little mouse invited the Gruffalo to follow him to see why he was the scariest animal in the wood.
