What a wonderful Father's Day it was at Blooming Club!
Our corner was packed - over 50 families came to celebrate the special day with us!

Blooming Club's project manager, Auntie Christa, stood in for Lise Fraissinet who couldn't make it because her young son was sick.

She started off the session with Julia Donaldson's Monkey Puzzle to warm the children up for the featured title, Daddy is My Hero.

The young audience loved hearing how butterfly tried to help the lost little monkey find his mum, but kept directing him to the wrong animal. The muddle was because she didn't know what little monkey's mum looked like as her baby caterpillars did not look like her at all!

The children were very pleased with the happy ending where little monkey finally found Dad, who took him to mum. Dad was little monkey's hero!

In Daddy is My Hero, everyone heard that Daddy could be a cowboy, a knight, a captain and an astronaut. He's every kind of hero rolled into one!

After the reading, every child lovingly told Auntie Christa what sort of heroes their Dads were and what activities they like to do with their Dads. Some like to tell stories, some play Lego, some play scooters, some swim and some buy toys…… It was heartwarming to see these little children showing their love for their Dads and pointing out their Dads to everyone.

We ended the session with our usual group picture, and then sang together the Barney song: 'I love you, you love me. We are a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?"

Thank you, Moms and Dads, for bringing your children! We hope that you enjoy the stories!

All the very best to everyone in your family!

See you again soon!
