Review
We had great fun with our young Roald Dahl fans on 11 September as we celebrated Roald Dahl Day. Fans gathered together to listen to The Enormous Crocodile read by Blooming Club's Auntie Christa. This story about a nasty, big croc's determination to fill his "empty hungry tummy with something yummy yummy yummy", with his "secret plans and clever tricks" never fails to amuse readers, young and old again and again.
To the children's delight, we gave out Cadbury's chocolates to commemorate Road Dahl who used to taste chocolates for the UK's largest chocolate factory as a schoolboy as he went to school nearby.
Quite often parents and children ask us to recommend good books which show that many are really keen to read to find out what's best for them. On the anniversary of the 70th anniversary of Puffin, the children's book publisher has produced The Puffin Handbook which is a little guide to the 70 best books for children. We at Blooming Club thought that the expert advice and top tips from this handy guide is the perfect gift for our Roald Dahl fans to help them find the right books.
