The crowd that turned up at our Blooming Club corner at Causeway Bay Book Centre on 11 Dec proved that a Christmas story about a naughty boy was a big attraction! Every child there could tell right away from the cover of the book that Bradley Bartleby was a spoiled brat and was up to something wicked and couldn't wait to find out what it was. Hearing that Bradley was born bad and getting worse as he grew older, so bad that even kind-hearted Santa didn't want to look at his long wish list for Christmas present, the children were hooked. The scheme to trap Santa over one whole year with dynamite, tigers, a guillotine, a trap door and a cage just to get his revenge on Santa for giving him just a pair of socks, was so over-the-top that it was really comical. All the children were pleased to know that Santa was really clever and it was Bradley who got trapped in the end. We are fairly sure there was no one like Bradley in our audience and that everyone will be getting something nice from Santa this Christmas!

After the story, Mrs Lindy Fok from Kiddikraft showed the parents and children how to create simple Christmas ornaments with beads and pipe cleaners. It was lovely to see that our corner was filled with parents and children working together to create something special for their homes! Our special thanks to Lindy for giving Blooming Club a new creative dimension in our programmes.
