Another successful year of ‘Battle of the Books' for local Secondary Schools just came to a close on 24 May 2011. This year the number of participating schools doubled from last year's four, and we look forward to more joining in future years. The students told us several times how much they had enjoyed reading the book selection and how much they enjoyed being part of the BoB experience.

The Battle event, generously hosted by the Po Leung Kuk 1984 College in Tseung Kwan O, was an exciting event with some tense moments, and the final scores showed it was a very close competition all round, with the winners leading by just two points!

This year's winners were, once again, St Mark's School, Aldrich Bay, who carried off the trophy provided by Blooming Club. Each team also received a set of books generously donated by Oxford, Random House, Hodder, Bloomsbury, Orion, Penguin, Macmillan and Andersen Press. We thank the publishers for their support of the competition.

We would like to congratulate everyone who took part – we are delighted you enjoyed the event, and hope you will take part again next year!
