The annual Hong Kong Book Fair as always attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. At Blooming Club's booth in Children's Paradise, we met many parents and children as well as teachers, many of them bringing suitcases for their purchases! It was really fun to meet all of them and talk about the books which caught their eyes. There were significant numbers of visitors coming from the mainland as well.

Meeting the children, having impromptu readings with them at our booth and sharing with them the books we enjoy was wonderful. Our most requested stories were: The Gruffalo, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and The Cat in the Hat.

In spite of the limited space, we had on display about five hundred titles totalling a few thousand copies at the week-long fair. This year, the 10 most popular titles were:

Interestingly, there was an unexpected demand for non-fiction titles and we very much regret that we ran out of stock for

We promise that they will be in stock in our shops again soon!

For the first time, we also brought our most popular Storytelling sessions to the fair. This gave us the chance to interact with children who live too far away to join us at our regular events. What a delight it was to see them captivated by the stories. We thank our storytellers, Mrs. Judy Luk, Miss Mona Lee, Miss Janet Chan and Sarah Brennan for their support.

We hope to see you all again next year at the fair. In the meantime, do come and visit our children's corners in Causeway Bay, Tsimshatsui, Kornhill, Telford, Olympian, Shatin and Aberdeen. There are a great variety of interesting books just right for your summer reading.

Have a great summer!
