Join us and become MAD About Madeline (21/11/2009)

Why does Madeline appeal to adults and children alike for generation after generation? Now in its 70th year, the smallest of the twelve little girls in two straight lines is still loved the world over. The gutsy little girl who does not fear tiger, ice, mice, or the spoiled brat next door, is a role model for all little girls, more so at a time when most of the stories for young children were about princesses.
Whether Madeline is having her appendix out or left on top of a Ferris Wheel, she is fearless and sure of herself. All of her adventures are set within a backdrop of security where she enjoys the freedom to explore the world around her, something that every child finds fascinating.
Madeline begins:
“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines…….”
Join us for a reading of Madeline and Madeline And the Bad Hat on 21st November and become mad about Madeline too.
