Turn your little techno-junkies into avid readers! In this technological age where the overuse of digital technology is leading not just to obesity but also to the loss of social skills, language, creativity and even empathy in our future adults, reading books has never been more important. Come and hear Sarah Brennan, Hong Kong's well-known international children's author and speaker, with her no-holds-barred advice about:
• The history of reading and it's beneficial effect on the human brain through the ages;
• The importance of books in mankind's development;
• The threat now posed by the dramatic decline in book-reading by people of all ages;
• 12 sure-fire ways to turn reluctant readers into little bookworms…for life!
• Participants will leave with a summary of the talk and a list of recommended reading.
About the speaker:
Sarah Brennan is the author of the best-selling Chinese Calendar Tales. Born in Tasmania, Australia, she grew up on the slopes of Mount Wellington with bush animals, goats and exotic poultry.
