Story Time: The Gruffalo’s Child and A Squash and A Squeeze (03/04/2015)

It's Fun Day at Kiddyland on 3 April 2015!
Let's DOUBLE the fun with TWO stories by Julia Donaldson at our Story Time!

The Gruffalo's Child

The Gruffalo said that no gruffalo should ever set foot in the deep dark wood.

But one wild and windy night the Gruffalo's Child ignores her father's warning and tiptoes into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t exist… does it?

A Squash and a Squeeze

A little lady grumbles that her house is a squash and a squeeze. So she enlists the help of a wise man. His way of helping make her house roomier is so extraordinary wise and hilarious!

Gruffalo is joining us!
See you there!

About the Author:

Julia Donaldson is one of the UK's best-loved children's authors. She grew up enjoying creating imaginary characters and mimicking real ones with her younger sister. Her award-winning collaborations with Axel Scheffler include the modern classic The Gruffalo and its irresistible sequel The Gruffalo's Child. Julia also writes children's plays and songs and lives in Glasgow with her husband, Malcolm, and their family.

About the Storytellers:

Janet Chan, raised and educated in Hong Kong, has been working in the English publishing industry for years. She enjoys working on different genres of adult and children’s titles and has a particular love for children’s picture books. She has had the privilege to have met some of the brilliant authors and she believes that books should be read for enjoyment and children’s books are never only for children.

Christa Tam, better known as Auntie Christa, is the Project Manager of Blooming Club. She fell in love with children's literature while raising her daughter in 1990s in Japan where she spent much of her free time volunteering at kindergartens and schools to promote reading in English. Since her return to Hong Kong in 2003, she has been working in the book business to bring a wider selection of English children's books to parents and children. She enjoys reading review copies from publishers before everyone else; it is not surprising that she is surrounded by books in her office. Last but not least, she finds great pleasure in meeting members at Blooming Club events.
