Storytelling Conference 2015 (07/11/2015)

Welcome to the third annual Storytelling Conference for teachers, librarians and parents.

When we tell stories to children – or indeed to adults – we are helping to develop their listening skills, broaden their imagination, and encouraging them to express themselves in different ways. There is no 'right way' of telling a story, and no 'wrong way' either – there are just the words and the mind-pictures the story creates working their magic and opening eyes to new and different ways of 'seeing'.

Exposure to stories shows language skills 'live', building familiarity and enhancing fluency in both teller and listener. And all this has the added value of laying the foundation for reading.

This year, we are proud to present our keynote speaker, Michael Harvey, one of the leading contemporary European storytellers, at our Storytelling Conference 2015 on Saturday October 31st and Saturday November 7th.

Through the conference, Michael and the professional storytelling trainers will share the skills you need to create a fun and interactive learning experience for your students, bring stories to life to benefit your pupils' listening and learning, their understanding of the story, their verbal proficiency and literary creativity.

Like the 200+ participants in past two years who learnt the tools at our successful conferences, this year is your chance to discover the power and gift of storytelling.

If, through Storytelling, we can help our students, friends and family to enjoy a wide use of language, and encourage them to explore cultural differences and similarities, then we will have given them a key to the wider world. Now we invite them [and you] in...

Thank you for joining us at the Storytelling Conference 2015!
