It was wonderful for our Blooming Club staff to meet you all at our booth at the annual Hong Kong Book Fair (21 – 27 July, 2010) and to introduce you to our Club as well as our selection of books. We were thrilled that literally hundreds of you became members on the spot and we look forward to seeing you at our events.

In spite of its modest size, our booth managed to feature a wide selection of our children's titles including some highlights from past events and promotions such as the First Modern Classics, Sarah Brennan's Chinese Calendar Tales, A Dirty Story & An Even Dirtier Story, Sophie Paine's Oliver, the Quiet Firefighter, Peter Yarrow's Songbook series books. Also featured were Gregory Payne's Chase to the Brazen Head (the subject of an upcoming event), and celebrations of anniversaries of characters like Maisy (20th ), Judy Moody (10th) and Spot (30th) along with about 250 titles from various categories stocked in our Children's Corners in Causeway Bay and Tsimshatsui.

Our daily highlights drew crowds to our booth. The striking design of Marcus Sedgwick's illustrations from The Raven Mysteries captured lots of attention from passers-by who stayed to learn more about the mysteries at Castle Otherhand.

Judy Moody, together with her famous "bother" Stink, as well as Wally and Harper Collins' First Modern Classics (shrinked wrapped set) became the bestsellers of the week. Three new titles, The First Pup, The Great Hamster Massacre and I Want to Have a Mini Tiger also proved very popular which showed that many of our children here are animal lovers who long to have a pet of their own. We hope that these great animals stories give them endless pleasure as well as help them to understand animals better.

Thanks to the publishers' support, we gave away a few thousand items of goodies to all our visitors. It really made our day to see happy children walking away clutching badges, book marks and the tote bags! Best of all is that you got to know a bit more about the characters on those items after your visit and you know that you will be able to find them again at our Blooming Club Children's Corners!
