"This is George. He lived in Africa. he was a good little monkey, and always very curious."
With these words, H.A. and Margret Rey introduced the world to Curious George 70 years ago, and the world has loved him ever since. Come to our reading of the mischievous monkey's adventures and follow him from Africa where he was brought by the Man in the Yellow Hat to live in a big city.
In all seven Curious George's original stories, Curious George, Curious George Takes a Job, Curious George Rides a Bike, Curious George Gets a Medal, Curious George Flies a Kite, Curious George Learns the Alphabet and Curious George Goes to the Hospital, the troubles George get into because of his curiosity have enthralled and entertained several generations of readers.

About the authors
H(ans) A(ugusto) Rey (1898 -1977) and Margret Rey (1906-1996) were both born in Hamburg. After meeting briefly when Margret was a young girl, the two reunited in 1935 and started working together. They settled in Paris after they got married but had to flee when the German army invaded the city in 1941. They fled on bicyles carried with them five manuscripts induding Fifi, which was to become Curious George.
