• Story time: What the Ladybird Heard

On a farm full of big, noisy animals, only the smallest, quietest animal knows that two robbers are coming … but she has a plan!

Come along to this storytelling session and find out how the ladybird outwits the robbers in this fun and colourful story. We will be encouraging children and their parents to participate in the story-telling and related activities which will not only enhance their English but also their enjoyment of English stories. These activities will help develop children’s listening skills and expand their vocabulary, as well as strengthen communication between children and their parents.

About the author

Julia Donaldson is the current UK Children’sLaureate. She is the author of over 150 books for children and her 1999 book The Gruffalo, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, is now a children's classic. She is not just a children’s writer but also a singer / songwriter.

About the storyteller

Elizabeth Beer is the Senior Teacher for Holiday courses at the British Council Hong Kong, which runs English courses for both adults and young learners aged 3 and above. She has the Cambridge Certificate, Diploma and Young Learners’ Extension qualifications in English teaching. Elizabeth has been teaching for seven years, and loves to incorporate stories into her lessons.
