US Literacy Specialist training for Parents (15/11/2011)

Reading with your child not only nurtures their creativity and imagination but more importantly, leads to future success in school. Start reading with your child from birth, and discover the miracles of your child's cognitive development, communication skills, and the power of family bonding.

  3. Understanding how being read to relates to school success
  4. How do we overcome challenges to reading aloud
  5. Creating a Daily Read Aloud routine
  6. How do we find the best books to read

About the trainer:

Julie Fowlkes is a literacy specialist with 40 years experience in childhood education. She is an Advisor for the State of California with a Master's degree in Reading and a Lifetime Credential as a Reading Specialist. She has worked with the Bring Me a Book Foundation in USA since 2004. She was instrumental in developing, piloting and training facilitators in the First Teachers program.

(Note: This training will be held in English and it is suitable for parents (with children aged 0-6); participants will be issued an Attendance Certificate upon completion of training.)
