30th anniversary of Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine storytelling (12/11/2011)

Most grandmas are kind and helpful ladies. Not George's grandma. She's a grumpy and grizzly old grouch and George wants to teach her a lesson. So when it's time for her medicine, George concocts a bubbling, frothing, marvellous mixture, which is guaranteed to send her through the roof...
Join us for Roald Dahl's hilariously funny story.
About the author:
Roald Dahl (1916 – 1990), often known as the world's favourite children's writer, was born in Wales of Norwegian parents. Dahl's unhappy time at school was to influence his writing greatly. He once said that what distinguished him from most other children's writers was "this business of remembering what it was like to be young". Since Roald Dahl's death, his books have more than maintained their popularity.
About the storyteller:
Sue Ribeiro has lived in Hong Kong for donkey's years, and worked in publishing before helping to establish Bloomsbury Books in 1983. She retired from the bookshop three years ago and enjoys being able to curl up with a good book, dog at feet and cat at elbow, whenever she wants to. Travel, music, gardening and food and wine are other interests.
