Enter the Amazing World of Books: Parent-Child Book Making Workshop & Storytelling (19/11/2011)

Join Julie's interactive and engaging workshop on 19 November and let your children discover the amazing world of books. Renowned literary specialist, Julie Fowlkes, will teach you how to create your own storybook, provide read aloud tips and give a storytelling session to demonstrate.

The workshop provides personal, authentic reading experiences to you and your children. You will learn how to write, illustrate and bind books with your child. The books will be simple and fun to make. After the workshop, Julie will conduct a storytelling session for the children to enjoy, where parents can also learn read aloud techniques to instill the lifelong joy of reading from an early age.

About the Instructor:

Julie Fowlkes is a literacy specialist with 40 years experience in childhood education. She is an Advisor for the State of California with a Master's degree in Reading. She has worked with the Bring Me a Book Foundation in USA since 2004. She was instrumental in developing, piloting and training facilitators in the Bring Me A Book’s award winning "First Teachers" program.

Quota:

25 pairs of Parent-child (one parent with children aged 4-10)
(first-come first-served basis)

Fee:

HK$200* per pairs (Materials for making one book included)
* Reservation fee is non-refundable and all proceeds will be donated to Bring Me A Book, a charity that promotes family literacy by providing easy access to the best children's books.
