Story Time at British Council : Petit Paul Globe Trotter
Generation World Citizen - Hong Kong (08/07/2012)

The world has many marvels and Petit Paul wants to see them all! Join this western toddler as he learns about Hong Kong, the city of his birth. Discover this magic city through his eyes: take the Peak Tram, visit a quiet temple, see the pandas at Ocean Park and meet his friends.
Come and join Petit Paul and his Mom, the author, Lise Leyris, at the British Council to explore our city from a different perspective.
About the storyteller:
Lise Leyris has studied in Europe and Asia; she has lived in three different countries and worked in six through various missions. After her son was born in Hong Kong, she was fascinated to witness his development in an environment influenced both by Eastern and Western cultures. She looked for child-friendly travel books to prepare her son, and finding none was the catalyst in the creation of the Petit Paul Globe Trotter series. She has been working closely with Dr. M. Fraissinet, a child psychologist, who has been fine-tuning the series and giving her guidance on child development.
About the Illustrator:
Maxim Lo Mei Sum is a young and very talented Hong Kong artist, designer and illustrator. She studied Chinese painting at Huaqiao University in Xiamen and illustration techniques at the London College of Printing. One of the books she illustrated, Oliver the Quiet Firefighter, was nominated for the White Ravens 2011, an annual selection of outstanding international story books for children and young adults.
