Review
What a wonderful evening it was at Andrea Darvill's Reading and Storytelling Workshop on 30 April! It was an intimate session where 20 parents had the opportunity to break into small groups. They shared their own story time with other parents as well as learned from Andrea how to improve their reading and storytelling skills.
Our attendees warmed to Andrea's delivery right from the icebreaker! Everyone made the most of this session to connect with each other. Soon after they had learnt the skills, they put them into practice right away using a more dramatic voice for more expression to help the listeners enter the magical world of books! We could tell that they were having fun themselves.
1. Have a shelf of books at the child's level
2. Have a regular story time.
3. Enjoy the stories yourself. Have fun and be silly.
4. Take your time. Pause to look at the pictures.
5. Run your finger under the text as you read.
